Would have liked to have seen Cameron rested today. Instead, he’ll be suspended either next weekend or on Boxing Day as they do suspensions weird at this level. Bloody great. Keating is out for ever. Card accumulations elsewhere. Janneh playing through injury and not taken off when Essuman came on. More game time for Essuman if he had started with Sendles-White at the back. And as for Janneh getting an injury when Williams needs game time to either offload or provide back-up over Christmas other than a promising 16 year old!! - Well I’m thoroughly unimpressed with today’s events. Johnson makes his first game management set of errors to my mind. Well, time will tell what the impact of this game will be but I suspect it is minimal. Cameron has been a constant and not travelling next week will see him rested, just a week later. If we start with Williams and Kozsela up front next week I will be joining you in the pissed off camp. Until then I am good.

Johnson reaction - he thought both sendings off were harsh . A few walking wounded as well....

Johnson reaction. A few walking wounded as well.... This really ought to have been a day for squad players to bear most of the brunt. That ref gave out 5 yellows and 2 reds in his last game. And that one only lasted 90 minutes. I take it that was known?

Should have been squad players in the last round of this competition, let alone this one!

Gary will know. We’ll be weaker on Saturday for it. I’ll probably go, but I’ll be moaning about Cameron not being there throughout.

Its so easy to be critical in hindsight and many would have been moaning if we had not been competitive especially for the fans that traveled to see us put in a decent performance. The supporters that traveled deserved to watch a team that's been performing well and I have no doubt GJ would have considered this as his responsibility when selecting who played. As I understand it we did perform and looked pretty good again and the fans that bothered to travel should be satisfied with the effort in the circumstances. Garry Johnson for certain knows far more than we do particularly with regard to "momentum and consistency" so I'm not at all surprised he didn't make too many changes and kept faith with players that were fit and have been performing well while trying to get others game time and match fitness. What he has no control over is the inconsistent and unpredictable refereeing standards that played a major part in yesterdays game. We will have to deal with it, accept it and move on and not start a witch hunt or blame individuals for incidents that happen in a split second of match played in truly awful conditions. It's a small test of GJ's ability to get through this minor crisis, regroup and remain strong and positive for the only competition that were left in and only one that ever really mattered.
Injuries and suspensions were always going to play a part in our season and we are sure to have setbacks along the way - its how those setbacks are dealt with that count and I trust GJ to make sure we are just as strong in the weeks ahead.

You hit the nail right on the head Pete ! Half the season gone, top of the league and four out of the next five games at Plainmoor ! The phrase Ill bite your hand off ! springs to mind .

It is easy to be critical in hindsight but have a look at what I wrote before the game. That was easy to write, too. Incidentally, this ref’s last game he gave 5 yellows and 2 reds over 90 minutes. Now I didn’t know that before the match, but the management team will have. No witch-hunt. Just a blip. And it was a real positive that Hall and Sendles-White got some decent minutes under their belt.
Hemel match 12/1 is now postponed as they beat Eastleigh yesterday, but there are likely to be some benefits of a two week break after 5 matches in two weeks from 22/12 to 5/1 on the positive side. Also, future opponents after that on a Trophy weekend are already out of the competition. Another plus.

With hindsight I need to post comment(s) prior to the match starting That doesn’t stop the accusation. Think yourself lucky you didn’t get the ‘what tosh you talk’ treatment I managed to get elsewhere.

The way some people are talking you would think we had a squad of 45 players like Manchester City. We were always going to have to field a team made up of the majority of the regular starting line up.
