A slight paradox showing the level we are now at in that we have won the most games in this competition since the Buckle era but have now only reached the lowest round achieved by the club since obtaining league status in 1927. However, this is a great opportunity to progress to the first round proper against a team a couple of steps down from us and also with the added disadvantage of having played a mid week game ironically against the side they have just knocked out in the previous round with the result going the other way. After an ambiguous press release earlier this week the club confirm that you can pay on the gate with Johnson looking for a big crowd to come and cheer the team on after their recent run - l link. 4 wins and a draw is a good start in anyone’s book even with the low level of opposition but a statistical quirk is that Johnson has a 100% win record away from home but a 0% win record at home which he will be looking to put right. With Reid in the form of his life , plenty of competition up front and some very talented youngsters on loan we have got to be firm favourites and hopefully it will be an enjoyable afternoon out in front of another 2000+ crowd

Gary Johnson mentioned that Jason Banton, Chris Regis and André Wright are available but are currently training with other clubs in an effort to secure new contracts away from Plainmoor. Not unexpected news. 5 subs without them. Potentially 7 allowed tomorrow. Sendles-White out for 5/6 weeks. Wynter recovered from virus.
MacDonald, Burton; Essuman, Koue Niate, Cameron, Edwards, Hall, Kalala, Lemonheigh-Evans, Andrews, Davis, Reid, Janneh, Williams, Keating, Wynter, Banton, Regis, Wright.

With Wynter and Lemonheigh-Evans available again Johnson has the option of going back to 4-4-2 again but gut feeling is that Wynter will remain as a sub to cover the defence and Lemonheigh-Evans back in the midfield in a 3-5-2. Who will partner Reid up front?

Wynter and Nabi - it says they are both back to full training, so maybe both are available? Am guessing he’ll start with Janneh and Reid up top. Agree he’ll stick with 3-5-2 to start and put Lemonheigh-Evans in for Kalala.

rjdgull Gut feeling along with the evidence of his performances so far this season, tend to indicate that Wynter hasn't shown the ability to justify a starting eleven place....particularly if we're expecting to make a real challenge for promotion.
I'm sure Gary Johnson would like us to establish a comfortable lead early in tomorrow's match, enabling him to give a run out to a good many, if not all his subs.
Who to partner Reid up front ? If it was a league match I think you could rule out Keating as being that prospective partner, but as it's a Cup match and against supposedly 'lesser' opposition, could it be seen as a game for Ruari to stretch his legs ?. I'd hoped that dropping down a Level to NLS, Keating would settle more to the standard required. In the Cup game against Brightlingsea I felt he looked capable of playing against a higher standard of opposition than them, yet his skill set isn't quite up to standard for the NLS.....particularly if the criteria is to have what's necessary to be a regular starter for a side hoping to be top or near the top of the league.
Admittedly showing a Cornish bias, but I hope Psycho Janner is given a decent amount of playing time tomorrow, at least long enough to notch a goal or two. A goal would take the weight of expectation off his shoulders and allow him to settle down and show us just what a good and dangerous player he can be. Another win, another pot of prize money for Clarke Osborne to count over the weekend, and the excitement of the Monday draw....that's all we're asking.

Job done indeed- a comfortable win in that we did enough with Winchester rarely threatening. Kalala was MOTM for me and his ball control was outstanding. Not a classic match and we had a number of chances that weren’t converted. Think we may have missed Andrews and certainly missed Kalala and Janneh when they were substituted. If Andrews is back next week then some hard decisions on the line up required, maybe Kalala to start up front with Reid.

Nice problems to have, as they say. I reckon Andrews will be back, but Lemonheigh-Evans will be up the footballing ladder fairly soon. Maybe loaned to Newport or FGR.
