Mmm.... "The new Gulls boss also revealed that he has spoken to Gary Owers and wants to use his knowledge to his advantage" Double mmm. Strikes me as a sensible ‘no stone left unturned’ approach toward player assessment. Ultimately he’ll make up his own mind thereafter, as that’s what he’s paid for. Can't see what anyone one can learn from a complete poltroon such as Owers. I wouldn't ask him if was night time at 10.00pm tonight.

As a quick comparison, 9 goals from Johnson’s first 2 games, ok I know against one team way below us but how many from Ower’s nine games this season- 5?

As expected Johnson is looking to extend the loans of Andrews and Edwards whose initial month runs out after the Woking game - link

Big fan of GJ already...like the fact he talked about building a club and not just a team. Just what we need.

It may be a puny little trophy when set alongside the gargantuan Oliver Award, but then they say size isn't everything (thank goodness ) and just think back to Jules Rimet and his little Cup, yet it was significant enough to get mentioned in a song. Johnson's unbeaten run deserves the plaudits, and as Chelston says, we don't get presented with much for being successful these days, so let's enjoy this. And more important still is for the pleasing results of October to be only a springboard to enable us to go on and make a success of the whole season. Well done Gary Johnson, and the players, and Chairman etc, who have all contributed to helping this trophy be won.

The trophy for the Ashes is called the little urn for a reason, every now and then we let you hold it for a while! The good trophies are small in stature!

I think you have to go back to Buckle in 2007 to see a similar impact and rapid turnaround by a new manager at our club. It is Johnson’s ninth game in charge tomorrow but no one is talking about or have even mentioned assessing how he has done after 10 games which is a good yardstick.
Those 2 recent draws have taken just a bit of gloss off his record as 3 of the 5 wins have been against sides further down the pyramid and the next step is to win consistently against teams in our own division to enable us to finish in the top three and preferably as champions. Having seen some of our title contenders at Plainmoor this season there is nothing to fear and we have a cracking chance of achieving this subject to retaining the quality we now have playing in this side.

Great interview - just a little concern over what the ‘bits and pieces’ were and hope any issues have been fully resolved!

Great interview - just a little concern over what the ‘bits and pieces’ were and hope any issues have been fully resolved! At a guess, some interest from elsewhere, which is to be expected as he has been cutting back playing budgets and bringing success on the field. What’s not to like for others.

I see Plymouth have sacked their manager- some talk of Home Park looking in our direction but think very unlikely at this moment in time.

I think Johnson will stay here if the club back him financially, but I wonder how big an if that is. I hope Osborne is aware just how much money he will need to spend to get us back to the EFL.

No doubt every Torquay fan will want GJ to stay...hope he gets the financial backing he needs.
