Can't add much to the match reports.
I would like to know what they do in training:
They can't put a decent first time cross in, practice, practice and practice surely.
We seem to have no idea of tactics as we can't pass the ball to one of our players in a decent position (that's of course if they are in one). We tend to lady thingy about with theball, sideways, back, sideways and then hoof it up to, God knows.
Chippenham like most of the clubs I've seen at home pass the ball forwards to on of their players who presents a goal threat. Yesterday on more than one occasion their number 2 was thrown the ball and advanced to the half-way line without a tackle being made.
I would like to have seen Owers go on the offensive in the second half and played the Lottery winning strike force of Keating, Reid (injured?)and Williams.
MOM, Bass again.
And we paid compensation to this clown <shakes head>.

At least we can't get beaten by Buckland in the FA Cup in a week or so, they lost 3 - 0.

Absolutely terrible for the first seventy minutes and quite good for the last twenty was enough for us to fluke three points last week.
Quite good for the first twenty minutes and absolutely terrible for the last seventy yesterday got exactly what it deserved.
We started well with a bit of zip to our play but no end product.
Williams would have enjoyed playing off Keating with Edwards and Andrews wide, but he watched from the sidelines.
After the initial huff and puff blew out, we looked a beaten and demoralised side - there for the taking. Chippenham duly took the easy pickings with a free header from a corner.
They then had no trouble whatsoever keeping us out. We did not look like we would score if the ref had added on an hour for all the time wasting that went on.
When Williams did come on, it was not to play off Keating but to replace him. Not only that, we swapped from 4-4-2 to 4-3-3 - pushing Reid wide left so that Williams yet again was playing an isolated target man role with Andrews in the hole. Williams looked as fed up with having to play a role to which he is blatantly unsuited as he always does when he is always asked to play it.
We soon went back to 4-4-2, but replacing Edwards with the disinterested Banton - playing Banton on the left and the left-footed Andrews wide on the right.
Finally, Wright replaced Reid up front. Is this really the same player that was here under Nico? You can see why he could not get in the Nuneaton team.
Make no mistake, the gap between this league and the National League is far wider than that between the National League and League 2. Failure to finish in the top seven would be a failure way beyond that of failing to finish in the top twenty of the National League.
But unless something changes, we look well on track to fail to deliver that play-off place. I would have to say that we had luck very much on our side in all three of our wins so far - we are lucky that we are not far closer to the relegation zone than we are!

tust and they are useless, clueless and hopeless, they also don't have a pot to puss in! I very strongly disagree with you here Aussie. I am extremely frustrated that TUST lost the battle to keep the club out of the hands of property developers - but do not blame TUST for that at all. They did do a lot of work to avert that disaster, but at the end of the day Phillips, Balson and co owned the club and were hell-bent on dangling the freehold carrot to property developers rather than letting supporters have the chance to save the club. Have you ever tried talking sense to these people? With the benefit of hindsight, there should have been a concerted effort to stop the Edwards consortium taking over back in 2015 - but at the time that would have seemed crazily divisive. I certainly would not have supported such a battle at that stage - but I never believed that group would sell the club down the river. How wrong I was. Since then, TUST has been instrumental in campaigning to protect the freehold. A good job done so far - although I am sure we have not heard the last of this. As things stand, the club is owned by Clarke Osborne. The ball is firmly in his court. If you have any constructive suggestions as to what can be done, I would love to hear them. You can plan for when the excrement hits the fan, but you can't start cleaning the fan until the fan is dirty.

they also don't have a pot to puss in! Now you let the cat out of the bag! Actually, 45k in their 2 accounts. Not enough to run the club but that would have come from a share issue in the event of a takeover which has not been tested. In any event, the club now holds substantial debts which are unlikely to be written off so as you say, a new start up is the most likely outcome.

All the experts tend to ignore that any ownership, be they trust or otherwise, gets gate receipts as a pot to piss in while the Council still owns the ground with a favourable rent.
Heard it asked elsewhere whether we could sustain a Southern Premier side under community ownership. Not sure whether the author has ever been to a Southern Premier Club, but such an enquiry left me flabbergasted given the fan resource alone that we have by comparison to ones I’ve visited.

I think we all know that the football club as it stands is a loss making business with debts and is unsustainable in its current form. Whatever Osborn's motives without his investment the club would be bankrupt. Nobody else other than the TUST has any interest in investing or taking on the debt it continues to accrue every week Osborne is likely to drop the club and sell it off if he doesn't get what he wants and will want to recoup as much of his investment as possible. He's taken a business gamble where he believes he can win the council and the public over with his ambitious plans. He has no interest in football that's quite apparent. The lip service he provides is propaganda, staying full time and supposedly investing in a decent squad. The club is a sprat to catch a mackerel there is no other feasible explanation. He's a business man and has the club by the short and curly's full stop and he will decide the future of the football club. That's my take on it and I reckon its going to end up rather messy.

Petef....think your assessment of our situation is spot on.I said a while ago that Mr Owers is no more than a "patsy" in what can be seen as a conspiracy to run the club into obscurity. Why else would he still be in the job? As a fan for over 50 years recent events have been a total disaster. Realistically a wealthy owner buying the club is our only chance of survival. Appreciate the efforts of TUST but don't see how they could finance the club.

Ha Stig you must be about the same age as me! Sad isn't it when you look back at what we were all so very proud of in particularly during in the sixties when I first started going to Plainmoor. Means bugger all now the club is a shadow of its former self and will never recover - well not in my lifetime I would guess.

Absolutely petef.. think my first game would have been 1963 or 64...when I would have been 11 or 12...so many fond memories of Tommy Northcott, Ernie Pym,Terry Adlington, Robin Stubbs etc etc. Have taken a lot of stick from friends over the years for supporting Torquay, but have never been tempted to change my allegiance. So sad to see what is happening to our club.

There's way too many hangers on within the building that get corporate shit for free and treat their mates on match day. It's a culture that's been there since Mike bailed. Match balls that cost 80 quid each are taken out left on the stand roofs to rot, there are loads of areas where belts need to tighten where people have to answer for waste and expenditure.
