FT 0 - 0 One point out of 6 over the Bank Holiday WE No goals scored I don't care, I'm bringing my pitchfork and torch next week. If someone can put a positive spin on the story so far please let me know (bar 2 points off play off's please). I can think of someone who will be along very shortly with what you expect.Reports of owers having coffee thrown over him at the final whistle and him venturing into the crowd to have words ooops not good not right either but is he getting the message i wonder

Only three goals conceded in seven matches. We have the best pitch in the division. Wracking my brains for anything else.

Not sure why we are being flippant about having the best defensive record in the League and being 2 points outside the play-offs after 7 games, tbh. These are things that can be built upon and a solid defence is always a good place to start from. Whether that is with Owers at the helm or not is something many have obviously made their minds up on, but those two aspects raised are indeed very much pluses at this stage of the campaign.

It's still August, so all is not lost....however after only 7 games, and remembering that there's only one automatic promotion place, it is disappointing to note that Woking have already notched up double the points total that we have. Perhaps with the injuries to Sokolik and Niate, Owers has decided that this had better be a season of consolidation instead......or perhaps holding back the promotion push in order that our first season at the Osborne Arena will coincide with winning the NLS title ? We might have to content ourselves with winning the 'Top Plainmoor Club' award for this season; poor old Truro already 4 points adrift from safety and with the joint worst goal difference in the league. If their new Manager (whoever he is) can somehow keep them up this season he'll be a true miracle worker

Where's Statto when you want him? Surely this run without scoring is looking like a record and maybe the defensive record as well have we ever bettered that in the first seven games? Totally meaningless in the context of things as they are though. Its all getting a bit comical now I was even sort of wishing Gloucester would score just to hasten the fall of the manager and put him and us out our misery. I wish he would just admit defeat really and pass on the challenge with someone who has a little more imagination but unless he gets really pissed off with the abuse I cant see it happening. I don't like some of the foul and personal insults though and the throwing of any liquid is wrong. Sure hes crap at what he does but hes just an average guy with a family trying to do a job who simply hasn't come up to the mark in any shape or form.. Hes not the first and he wont be the last to fail. If Osborne had a crumb of humanity or genuine interest in success on the pitch he would cut the cord right now surely. We fans expect and deserve deserve better after years of decline but Ower's tenure has been a disaster from the very start and hes failed in every aspect.

Better finishing from Slough, Oxford, Hampton and I'm sure Gloucester we would be dead and buried coupled with an inability to score (NONE in the last three games) will see a slow drop down the table. Nothing I've seen convinces me that good times are 'round the corner I'm afraid. Owers out.

No excuse for throwing hot coffee at anybody least of all the manager of the club we all love. Poor form. I think it is best for all concerned if Mr Owers leaves the club, but there is no place for this type of protest.

GO on the game:
"UNITED manager Gary Owers was full of praise for his players after the goalless draw at Gloucester City but still seeks that extra bit of quality in the final third to turn possession into goals.
It has been a tough Bank Holiday weekend after this draw and the defeat to Hampton & Richmond on Saturday, but some of the actions at the end from a very small minority of ‘fans’ was extremely disappointing, and the club will be investigating what has happened today.
“We dominated the game, dominated possession but couldn’t find that one bit quality to win the game,” said Gary.
“That’s it in a nutshell and not a lot more I can say about the game, but something that’s got to be solved very quickly.
“I believe we’ve got the players here to do it for us and they’re working very hard. Hopefully, they can find their scoring boots very quickly. The obvious answer is to find someone with a proven record but that does cost money.
“I’ve made enquiries and there is a deadline for league clubs, so players that don’t go out from league players become available at our level.
“There are no complaints from me [to the players], they tried their best. We didn’t lack any commitment or effort, just came up a little bit of short in that bit of quality but they know that. We’ve had a bad weekend but we’ll keep fighting. It’s early days and the tide has to turn quickly."
