I have to echo Chelston's sentiments. In what I'm sure will become known as Clarke Osborne's famous 'Mist Of Despair' statement, our Chairman has proven himself capable of delivering something many will compare with some of the great Churchillian speeches of days gone by.
Firstly there are bound to be some who question it's authenticity, and suggest it was probably knocked up by the Plainmoor PR man during his morning tea break. To that I'd say 'poppycock !' The evidence for me, is the use of the word 'Whilst' that starts the third paragraph. I'm no youngster, but even i retired 'whilst' a decade or more ago, and I doubt Tinkler has ever used it. That was 100% genuine CO for me.
What else can we pick out of it ? 'As difficult as it may be to see in the mist of despair, we are making real progress and we will, with everyone pulling in the same direction, succeed'. Well while everyone's natural first reaction is to say 'Everyone pulling in the same direction ?.....tell that to the TUST Militants !!!', could it be another clue that 'GI TUST' is getting ever closer ?. I've got a speculative tenner on with William Hill that there'll be a TUST member tied to his chair so that he can't escape, sat somewhere around that 'Local Board' table.
And isn't it heartening to get conformation that our Chairman's concern and love for the club even stretches to keeping a close eye on the youngsters results. We've suffered a short term set back for sure, but with everyone at the club promising their 'commitment and determination to bring back the good times' the least we can do is to pledge our whole-hearted support to the club for next season, snap up a couple of the laughably cheap NLS season tickets when they come on sale, and again commend our Chairman for this wonderful message, fittingly made on St.George's Day, as we prepare to slay the baby dragons of the NLS.

...our Chairman's concern and love for the club... You can all read what you like into the rest of this absurd diatribe and keep telling me that he is a genius with words, an amusing distraction from the woes of the club, or simply a wind up merchant who loves people reading his posts and sits at his computer laughing his socks off. Comical Ali couldn't have done better. At a time when the vast majority of us are devastated by the decline of the club in such a short period of time, he has the gall to come out with comments like that. It's all too easy to say that if anyone doesn't like his ridiculous points of view, then they should scroll past them, and I have recently done so, but it's not funny any more. This chairman's "concern and love" for the club amounts to a concern and love for seeing how much money he can make out of the club by running it down to the extent that it is defenseless and in its death throes, so that he can, to all intents and purposes, steal the land on which the ground stands. Your Uncle Clarke's knowledge of, or interest in, football is equivalent to my knowledge of, or interest in, brain surgery. He has already demonstrated that by stating that he will be sticking by a general manager and team manager, neither of whom have a clue what they are doing. I am deeply upset by the position in which my club since the age of eight now finds itself and I repeat, Alpine Joe, that what you are saying is not funny any more, and so I personally, without being able to speak for other members, wish that you would just go away with your support of a cash obsessed land grabber, together with your deluded references to militants and Stalinist plots, and inflict it all on someone else. The remarks which you constantly come out with are sickening to decent supporters.

It's worth giving consideration to upping your dose of Ovaltine, Stewart, as you seem to get very angry in the early hours of the morning. Stewart Because it's easy to say doesn't make it any less true does it ? It is exceptionally simple to scroll past the contributions of any poster you don't like. However, if even that minor task if too great an effort, you are offered the automatic facility of having it done for you, a full blocking service provided free of charge. Within seconds you can deny yourself the opportunity of taking offence. No more would you see the name 'Alpine Joe' on the left side of the screen, striking terror into your heart. But it's not enough for you Stewart is it.....you won't be satisfied until you've prevented everyone from seeing or reading opinions which they are currently free to do, but you won't rest until those opinions are stopped from appearing altogether. Stewart Now this isn't fair or accurate to claim my opinions are ' inflicted' on you or anyone else who looks at the Forum, is it Stewart ? I do no more than give anyone, including you, the option to read them. Total free choice for everyone to exercise as they see fit. Even the freedom not to know or see that my opinions exist at all is provided to you. But still this obsession with banning the 'wrong' opinions from appearing continues. However, I get no pleasure from seeing you distressed, Stewart (unlike Simonb who is probably a snowflake youngster for whom some exposure to an alternative viewpoint is probably doing him some good, if he did but know it ) and so will make a gesture of goodwill to you. Until the start of the new season (several months away, so no easy task for me) I will acquire and therefore post, only the approved standard views on Clarke Osborne and his ownership of the club, that fit with preferred TFF thinking on the subject. Once the new season kicks off, I will be free to revert to previously held opinions should I so wish to do. This will give you, what I hope will be some much appreciated respite and a more enjoyable Summer. Of course on subjects such as Gary Owers, new players etc etc, I shall continue to exercise freedom of thought and of expression. But as for that treacherous Osborne, I'm as opposed to him as anyone.....at least until the big kick off to season 2018/19. #CheckOsbornesShamefulRecord #PlainmoorAlwaysOurHome

that fit with preferred TFF thinking on the subject. I thought the opinion across all three Forums is that Clarke Osbourne is a bell-end and can’t be trusted 1%. We could of course have the first stadium he has built, although he's cutting it a bit tight to get it all planned and built within two years.

Smokescreen comes to mind. Osborne is feeding us what he believes we want to hear. To me its insincere and is under stating the obvious. A football man with genuine ambition would be discussing /questioning the credibility of the current management team, how we are going to improve the quality of the playing squad whilst announcing an almighty rallying cry full of emotion and face to face with the supporters/ press. On the surface he is attempting to appear passionate - IT ISN'T WORKING FOR ME. Is it any wonder he doesn't want to face supporters or press for that matter for fear of being unable to showi any genuine emotion and ultimately showing his hand and being found out. Its a pretty impressive smoke screen I'll give him that making all the noises that you would expect of an ambitious football loving owner/chairman but isn't that just what a clever business man would be doing in this sittuation? The last thing he wants is real rebellion and bad press. I believe it will pan out something like this. Westlands School will end up with Plainmoor Osborne will get a prime piece of development land for relinquishing the ground The club will end up using and paying rent for a small ground, consistent with its lowly standing and as part of a newly built leisure facility.
As far as Alpines posts go I must admit to having a laugh on occasion but have to admit recent cryptic musings has made me even more depressed about the clubs situation and has served only to render me confused by his motives. A clever and talented writer who undoubtedly has time and a gift for cryptic semi-humorous posts. Myself, being of only secondary school, working class education with left wing sympathies it mostly goes completely over my head in any case. That's when I can be bothered to read and attempt to absorb it.

Had to give it all up I'm afraid Chelston. I was under intensive therapy (daily) for a while, but had to stop because it was making me worse...if that's possible! I was advised to undergo some sort of 'Light Treatment', which involves looking at lights flashing all over the place while they regress you to find out what your problem is! I told them to bang that where the 'Lights Don't Shine!' So here I sit...as nutty as a fruit cake! Well I must be if I like AJ's posts!
