Gutted I didn't get back in time from Cardiff as I would like to have seen the surrender for myself.
The reports sounded bad and bumped into a bloke at the Dumpling tonight who agreed that without major investment in quality players we are Conference South bound.
I would like to know why we waited four weeks for the Messiah...

There were 6 loanees in the matchday squad today. Is that allowed?

chelstongull Very disappointing for him, and for those who thought it would be a good idea to go along and watch. But just as players like Axel Andresson might have performed competently with Bath City, it doesn't mean that when making the step up to face better opponents that you'll appear to be anywhere near as good. The managerial switch to the higher demands of the Conference National also can't be ignored. Whereas King Kev had considerable playing experience at this level and current managerial experience, Owers has had to do his best to adjust. A play off capable squad falling into your lap is one thing, but there's no guarantee that you'll help fulfill it's potential. Just as coming in and picking up that Lottery winning ticket doesn't mean you know how to go about successfully cashing it in. From what I can see, Owers has had one solitary full season as Manager of a club in this league, and with his squad of full time professionals managed to avoid relegation on the last day of the season. Just at the moment there are plenty who would be happy if he could reach that standard again. Trophy/Vase or whatever it was on Saturday can surely be quickly forgotten about, and recent league form hasn't been too bad. Now appears to be the crucial time of making the changes to decide on what squad we're going to have to pin our hopes on for these all important final months. Not all the signings brought into the club by Owers/Kuhl have been particularly inspiring so far, but remembering that there was a reasonable sum available to pay a transfer fee only a few weeks ago, then with that further financial backing, and more importantly identifying the right players, it is still more than possible for us to stay up. And if Gary would like the advice of a man who's successfully been there and done that, all the while operating on a shoe string, and selling players for cash rather than being able to slap down transfer fees to bring players in, then he's only a phone call away and even lives locally. Advice served up on a silver salver from a club legend. Don't be too proud to ask for it Gary

What a shameful and diabolical shambles that looked. We look no better than a local park side in that video, totally off the pace. After so much hard work over the last month or two things were starting to look a little better this will have done an awful lot of damage to confidence and moral. A truly shameful effort and I fear the worst for the rest of the season on this evidence and Owers, who should indeed be questioning himself, is going to have his work cut out lifting that lot to a decent standard.

Can I now say "I told you so!"? Nope - still half a season to go. I'm not a total defeatist Aussie!

Can I now say "I told you so!"? Hadn't heard of Leroy Rosenier or known Paul Buckle as recognised Manager's - will have to reserve initial judgement until January 1st 2018 @ 1700

Taken from the OS:
"After the disappointment of United 2-0 defeat to Maidstone in the FA Trophy, comes renewed enthusiasm to gain points in the battle to stay in the National League. Eastleigh sit in 18th place in the National League on 29 points."
