Just wonder what complete and utter garbage will flow from TUFC today! Perhaps they will name the new (fantasy) ground the "David Phillips's Fiasco"!

Let's hope that common sense gets the chance to prevail today. Ever more wild scenarios of doom and destruction seem to have been unleashed by a selection of hotheads on all forums in the past 24 hours, so if more rational thought gets a chance today it will be to everyone's benefit.

The problem is AJ, even this board have been desperately trying to find alternative ownership and have been boxed into a corner where they literally have no money before going down this path. Very hard to find anything positive from this but bless you for trying.

Let's hope that common sense gets the chance to prevail today. Ever more wild scenarios of doom and destruction seem to have been unleashed by a selection of hotheads on all forums in the past 24 hours, so if more rational thought gets a chance today it will be to everyone's benefit. I doubt we'll see or hear any facts, truth or common sense Alpine I predict more muddy waters and further underhand dealings will follow. Our a small but knowledgeable fan base is angry and upset at the way this has all been handled and I fear they will just release a minimal statement and crawl back into their shell to prevent bloodshed. There are some Interesting comments from a poster on another forum (mr distance) suggesting he was the go between representing a Chinese consortium that had a generous offer rejected at the last hour on Friday. When I first saw this I was naturally scptical but having read his follow up posts I have become more and more convinced this was a genuine offer from another group. Mrdistance is saying now that he has "told all" and submitted in detail the entire goings on of last Friday and events leading up to the boards final decision and subsequent announcment to the H&E. I have no reason to disbelieve this poster and its worth scrutinisation if you get the chance to read the thread. Whether our hungry intrepid sports journalist will report those details is very doubtfull mund you. DT and co seem to like their cosy little "mid ground columnist" life and wont want to upset the apple cart at this sensitive time. At the end of the day we all want openeness, honesty and the bloody truth. Where and when the full details and facts of events will come out, if ever, god only knows

rjdgull It's the least some of us can do rjd. Positivity just occasionally goes a little way to counter the continual flow of negativity from other quarters. It's very difficult to beat them though. Just looking at the last few days. We're led to think that we could witness the sinister spectacle of G.I bleeding the club dry, failing to provide funds and then profiting from the 'carcass', while another warns us that if G.I are seen to put funds in that will be just as sinister. If there's no information forthcoming that is wrong, and if information is provided that's not to the militants liking then they just decide they won't believe it. They've got every base covered and a negative slant ready for every eventuality. But I'm willing to continue the good fight on and into 2017 You are exactly right about the struggle to find alternative ownership. We thought that Kelvin Thomas was getting well remunerated to scour the globe in an attempt to find someone capable of taking us on, but he drew a blank. Our current Board gave the impression they would be keen to step down, virtually from the moment they took over, if only credible new owners could be identified. And yet some take issue with Dave Phillip's phrase about G.I (I've not looked up the exact wording) that they were 'not necessarily ideal bedfellows'. What chance have we ever stood of coming up with anything remotely close to our 'ideal' ? The current Board, with limited business experience, no great desire to take on the task in the first place, and severe restrictions on the cash they could put in, were far from 'ideal bedfellows' for any National League club, including us, where business ingenuity and substantial financial muscle are almost prerequisites. But hopefully, given time, more will come round to the idea that a little gratitude for the time, hard work, and money that the outgoing Directors put in, wouldn't have been so out of place after all. petef It's an odd one Pete, and I'm not entirely sure what to make of it either. We seems to have effectively been up for sale for years, and yet just as hands were due to be shook on a deal last Friday, a representative of Chinese millionaires appears. The first thing that comes to mind is that the champions of 'Keep ownership local', The Trust, who would place their faith in the local community stumping up the necessary cash, are already today, making an issue about the new owners coming from as far away as Wiltshire ! With a TUST spokesman called Alan Robinson moaning to the BBC that " they have very little connection with Torquay as a place". I think we can assume that Mr.Robinson would therefore have been apoplectic if he'd been told we were getting owners from China, or Hong Kong or wherever. Also you do wonder what particular axe 'mr distance' has to grind with the club. I see that he states on that forum today that 'I am a football consultant who was asked by the club to find a investor I started in October'. He found them an investor, they decided to go with a different one, what does it matter to him ? Then again if he's been working away for months and would only get paid should the deal be done with the investors that he introduced, then it's possible he's feeling a bit narked at having nothing to show for is efforts and has decided to stir things up as best he can. All just further evidence to confirm that there's never a dull moment with TUFC.
