link - preview from dot com. Last year we played Argyle on 28 July in the evening with 800 away supporters contributing to a crowd of 1781. We stated with Briscoe and Marsh up front, Young, Fenwick and Kellarman in midfield, Richards and Butler as wingbacks, Exodus, Angus and Smith in defence, Spires in goal. So just 3 survivors from last year and will be interesting to compare and contrast the squads.

A good run out and turn out today. over 2400 is an excellent attendance but I guess they must have done a head count in the away end to get to that figure
A good gathering of Jon (looking trim), Phil (disguised with beard looking 20 years older), Rob and Matthew who had to put up with the Welsh twins bombarding them with yap and yours truly.
A lot of good things on show but I'll let others, who write better than me, give a full match report
I am more hopeful this year than I was the same time last year. This is my 40th season and I hope it will be a good one

A useful run out against decent opposition and a good turn out out from Arygle fans who made up about half of the attendance. Suppose the main talking point was Brett Williams dropping out due to injury at the last moment with Kaid Mohammed taking his place!
We held our own but Argyle edged it with more chances although we had some ourselves with an Arygle defender just beating Sparkes to a cross and a corner just being scrambled away. To my shame missed the Argyle goal due to too much yap!
Our goal came from a poor back pass by Argyle which Chaney latched onto and was brought down by McCormick leaving Blissett to calmly slot home. Both teams had chances to get the winner but the advent of subs spoilt the flow of the game.
A draw was a good return and we have a decent XI that is competitive but with no depth to the squad.....

Dot com stated that Nico did not want to gamble on his fitness by playing him so hopefully a minor tweak this won't come to Much. Obviously sustained in the pre match warm up so Shirley cannot be serious?

we have a decent XI that is competitive but with no depth to the squad..... Wouldn't disagree with that. Hope that we can add a handful of loanees at minimal cost. I had heard that we played a midfield diamond at Saltash with Lathrope at the base and Sparkes central at the tip. Sparkes was definitely more left sided against Argyle. It was a sort of classic 4-4-2 but with Lathrope definitely further back than Young and to his right. Sparkes got forward more than Richards so it was a lop-sided 4-4-2 or 4-1-3-2. At times it was just about a 4-3-3 with Richards to the right of and Young to the left of Lathrope, Mohamed peeling right and Sparkes left of Blisset. Moore Verma MacDonald McGinty Rowe-Turner Richards Lathrope Young Sparkes Mohamed Blissett sometimes: Moore Verma MacDonald McGinty Rowe-Turner Richards Lathrope Young Mohamed Blissett Sparkes When Chaney came on, he played where he is most creative in the role just behind a lone striker. We ended the game in a 4-4-1-1: Harvey Dollery MacDonald McGinty Nicholson Richards Mitchell Duke Sparkes Chaney Chamberlain
