Come on Dave, talk to TUST. I think today's events show how impotent he is. The agreement with GI should be torn up, and the club allowed to get on finding a way to survive in what ever form that might take.

That will be Pete Masters then, or a front man for him. Time will tell. Watch BBC sports news chairman looks not so honest. Why did the directors all go Truro this week - to see Pete Masters? If you doubt this ask them, or look at the webcams on the A30. YOU SHOULD know the truth for we are all Torquay United fans we are the club and without us there would be no club! lets us take control of are club. with true fans.LETS DO IT,

I would like say sorry to torquay fans ltd for not believing you months ago we can all see that you where correct in your statements. Classic. Tbh, if "they" plough their funds into TUST then I, for one, would respect that.

Response from the TUST, printed in full.
"Response to todays AGM Speechless!!!
As soon as Gaming International was first mooted as prospective purchasers of Torquay United I started to receive messages from concerned supporters. Their overriding worry was that our club might be sold to a business involved in property speculation. Although the board of TUST naturally took careful note of these concerns we chose to wait for the detail of the proposed takeover before taking affirmative action.
All these months later we’re still waiting. Our frustration has grown not only with the lack of progress but also with what amounts to an unsatisfactory cloak of secrecy surrounding the deal. To this effect I have written to David Phillips on several occasions to seek clarification and make the simple request that a clear statement be made to supporters and the local public.
More specifically when TUST released a statement on 1 July 2016 it was issued on the clear understanding that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gaming International had expired the previous day. Now we learn the MoU has been extended until 31 July just days before the start of the new season.
The existence of such a long period of exclusivity had certainly not been conveyed in communication from the club and Gaming International. I present a number of extracts from non-confidential emails for your consideration:
18 April 2016 - Clarke Osborne, Gaming International: "Our plan is to complete our due diligence and forward planning work by the end of the season and to make announcements shortly thereafter. As you know and for Michael’s benefit I should give comfort in the fact that I do not expect any issues surrounding the Due Diligence process. "
28 April 2016 - David Phillips, Torquay United: "I am also a little frustrated that the deal with GI is not concluded as yet. However, they are doing a thorough search regarding due diligence. Things are progressing. In Clarke Osborne own words to me yesterday there is only a 1 per cent chance of the deal not going through i.e nearly a certainty."
29th April 2016 - David Phillips: "In the extremely unlikely event of GI walking there is a plan B."
6th June 2016 - David Phillips: “The MOU with Gaming international runs until the end of June. We will naturally have more information then. If you want to contact the club it would be best if you communicate with our secretary Rob Stanley.” As Chairman of TUST I believe it is imperative call upon David Phillips and his board of directors to answer the following questions:
Following today’s AGM David Phillips has spoken of various obstacles preventing completion of the deal. What are these and how are they going to be overcome? When does the MoU with Gaming International actually come to an end? Is there a Plan B? If so, what is it? Who does it involve? If the MoU failed to be satisfactorily concluded would the search for new investors have to legally start again? If GI pulls out of the deal will it want any money back and, if so, when? Would a rate of interest be applied to repayments? Can the club meet these repayments?
I urge David Phillips to respond to these concerns – point by point - as soon as possible. I would be happy if this was through the club website, the local media or a letter to myself which I can reproduce for each TUST member.
Kind Regards...
Michael"

You need to ask yourself that. My answer is a firm yes. That may surprise you, but I would hope that TUFC Fans Ltd members might feel similarly, as the sums they have been able to invest previously dwarf any amount I might be able to. Just as before, you have to be prepared to lose that amount when saving the club. Previously it was, of course, hoping that you would not. TUFC Fans Ltd members walked away before GI showed an interest. I would say taking the plunge a second time would be far better for the club if it were done by throwing their lot in with TUST. What say you, bay52? On a separate note, it is good to see TUST proactively addressing the upshot of today's shareholders AGM. TUFC Fans Ltd may agree with their reaction and seek similar answers. They may not. I have no idea. But I hope the motivation to put something out there tonight or tomorrow in addition comes second to their desire to see the club survive as this is not a vanity parade. It's more serious than that.

link - take from the Herald today! Contradictory information about the period of the Memo of Understanding - Phillips in above article says there was no change in this for 1 August but in email of 6th June above indicates it was the end of June - maybe not the first time this was moved as were initially looking at end of April. As suspected, GI not playing with a straight bat - no surprises there but beggars belief that we are even talking to them as they won't be safe custodians of the club. Obvious that board are absolutely desperate to push this deal through with everything they have agreed to. After the TUST debacle I do not have much faith in a so called plan B. Taking advice from another Chairman and singing his praises does not fill me with confidence either. I hope the fans get one last opportunity to save the club........

Thanks for answering. They were considered owners, however. And did walk away. Although it's what they and others do next that most might judge by, I suppose. I am glad TUST asked those questions yesterday. Have they been at least acknowledged as received yet, I wonder?
