Possibly a bit of a light relief from the strife affecting our club. Not everyone's cup of tea on here but an enjoyable tense match last night. England will have to up their game but will have been glad to have got past a tense opener with a bonus point in what is the toughest of groups!

I've never understood the attraction of rugby. I played as a full back and as a winger when at school (it was compulsory in the autumn term in those days) and I don't remember being for or against playing. As soon as I left school, my interest in it died and has never been rekindled in the intervening 40-odd years. Until I read the OP I had no idea the Rugby WC was taking place!

Brilliant tournament so far, much more exciting than football. When would you ever see a team desperately trying to score despite being the equivalent of six or seven goals adrift ?
Who is that dreadful female "singer" who appears at the beginning of each TV programme ? She cannot reach the high notes and is completely out of pitch. I have heard better voices on X Factor.

I'm not too bothered about the occasional Broad style fluke, such a small nation per capita
compared to the might of the empire and we regularly spank you at most codes of sport so you can have the odd spirit lifting moment. After all if we didn't let you have the odd moral victory I'm pretty sure you'd refuse to play is anymore, it's hardly or fault we are vastly superior!
