Penalty, no one knows what for and now 3-1. No one knew what the free kick that led to the penalty was for any way?

Sounds a poor decision. Darn it.

We have been found out tonight by the sounds of it the stats don't lie - important we all stick with it and keep encouraging our "young underdogs". Its long season and we can hopefully, gradually improve. For sure we need the likes of Briscoe and Fairhurst and Hurst to be fit, in form and starting. Poor ref but we know how awful they can be at this level.

Always going to be a tough ask tonight. I am sure PC will have learnt valuable things about the squad and he has the tactical nouse to try and address the issues. Onwards and upwards.

We looked like getting outplayed early on, looked fragile at the back and rode our luck. We stuck at it, kept our shape, kept our discipline, battled our way back in to the game and deserved to get a result. At half-time it was looking like we might pull this trick off again. In the end, Wrexham's extra quality told. Paul Cox looks like he might very well be a man who can produce a team in which the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Unfortunately, he isn't a man who can turn water into wine. The half-time score might have had us dreaming of a Cyrilesque season grinding out away wins for fun. The reality is that Paul Cox will have done his job if we finish outside the bottom six. Much as I would love to finish in the top six, that has to be the realistic target.

The half-time score might have had us dreaming of a Cyrilesque season grinding out away wins for fun. He (Paul Cox) was critical of the way we 'sat back' in the second half trying to defend a 1 nil lead I turned the wireless off after the second goal went in Apart from the goal it sounded like the Siege of Wrexham with the odd gasp at the ref and his poor decision making thrown in. Oh and it seems the Travelers have left Clennon Valley

As others have said - early days yet. Let's see how things progress over the next few games . Surely the state of affairs is better than last season even now so there must be case for cautious optimism when considering the wider picture?

Surely the state of affairs is better than last season even now so there must be case for cautious optimism when considering the wider picture? I would agree with this sentiment. This season i can see being something of a rollercoaster. There will be good days and bad, performances that give us pride and hope, those that have us reaching for the medication. That is the nature of the squad we have this season, mostly young, inexperienced and still learning their trade. However in PC we have a manager who can teach the players well, effect games from the sideline and get players working hard for him, each other and the fans. Success will not happen overnight and most of us know that but i am hopeful that given time we may just return to the better days at TQ1.

Highlights now available.
I thought Breedy really let himself down with his cheat comment - even if the penalty had been a terrible decision.
Looking at the video, I would say the ref got it spot on.
The fact that the commentary team missed it - and possibly the Wrexham players and fans too - is that they were following the ball.
Poor control from Carmichael and he showed his lack of experience by desperately trying to retrieve the ball. The Wrexham player was always going to get there first, but Carmichael carried on and took the man after the ball had gone. A "soft" penalty because it was an unnecessary error from our player - but a correct decision from the ref.
Other than this, the commentary team did o.k. but I was surprised at their reaction to our first substitution. Playing alone up top is an arduous task - and often calls for fresh legs after an hour or so. Lavelle-Moore came on for Quigley after an hour on Saturday. Lavelle-Moore comes on after an hour on Tuesday and both commentator and co-commentator are shocked and amazed that it is Quigley who comes off!

Interesting highights. Didn't get to the Macclesfield game, but we do (unsurprisingly) look like a bunch of strangers.
Painful goalkeeper commentary for a Germanophile - it's Speiss like 'nice', not 'speess'...
