No.1 says Bude Town, so I'm cheating there. No. 5 Coach Road? No. 6 is Penzance. No. 7 Merthyr? No. 8 could be Truro, pretty sure no.9 is Salisbury, whilst no. 10 looks like Exmouth Town - just need the donkeys on the patch of land behind the stand to confirm. No. 12 looks a little like Weston-super-Mare, taken from their 'Thatchers Cider Stand', I think.
No.8 Penzance; home to the Cornish Pirates... No.6 is across the road from the Pirates; home of the 'proper' footballers of Penzance FC. No.9 Salisbury; where on my last visit the vice-Chairman tried to sell me the club for a pound whilst standing on that balcony! No.3 is definitely Gillingham. One of my clock restoration workshops is situated by the railway bridge and this is, give-or-take a few degrees, the view from the toilet window. Don't think No.5 is Exmouth.
No.9 Salisbury; where on my last visit the vice-Chairman tried to sell me the club for a pound!
Budleigh clearly has form in negotiating with football clubs. Maybe that's what he's been telling us. The East Devon consortium may still be a contender. There's Budleigh, Hector.....who else?
Here's a thought about stopping football clubs from falling into the hands of sharks and vultures. Last week we shouldn't have been playing Dartford. They were due to have been relegated last season. Our opponents should have been Hereford or Salisbury.
Rather too close to the Severn for its own good. In drier weather, with the right pair of shoes, I may have scrambled down the bank to take a look inside.
Gloucester City weren't at Meadow Park for long. They moved there in 1986 after an already-nomadic existence. City have played at Cheltenham since the floods. Plans have been approved to move back to Meadow Park with the land being raised.
A modest ground in a fine setting up a sunken lane. Makes for a cracking day out in sunny weather.
By my reckoning we're left with 4, 5, 10 and 13. Rather as I expected.
I could have sworn no.10 was Exmouth Town - but perhaps the 'stand' is a bit further from the pitch, although come to think of it - Carter Park is just behind the end where the houses are in this picture, for Exmouth, but very similar looking.
For no. 5, it looks a little like Berry Head in the far distance, which it probably isn't, and therefore makes it feel it should be around Dawlish or somewhere but as there are no Devon grounds, if that is Berry Head, then it must be just into Dorset somewhere, so I am going to have a stab with Lyme Regis FC.
Well, I'm off to watch the mighty Gulls, so a break is needed (been updating my website, not just perusing non-league grounds); but I can't help thinking one is near Bradford-upon-Avon and the sloping bank is reminiscent of Cinderford, but I know it isn't...
