So, a historic first match for us with this up and coming team with many more to following in the coming years. With over a thousand away fans down, cheap prices and hopefully a lot of local interest, a fullish stadium should generate a good atmosphere that this quarter final match deserves.
A bit of mixed team news for us. Debutant Dawson is cup tied but Young is back from suspension with Bowman and MacDonald hopefully back from injury. Maybe Young and McQuilkin will pair up in midfield for the first time with MacDonald at right back? Would think that Bowman and Briscoe will be up front with Ajala and Chappell on the wings?
FC United are unbeaten for 11 games with striker Tom Greaves having notched 16 goals to his name. Looking forward to this one!

going to this one,but cant help feeling that we see this as a bigger game than they do,will compare there pyramid placing in two years compared to ours

If it goes right we will be so close to another Wembley final and all the positive feeling that goes with that. If it goes wrong tomorrow then we all know that the 2015 Moan Fest will be unleashed from all angles and im not ready for that just yet. |

Barton, you will no doubt be thrilled to hear that the original United these days not only take the field to "United We Stand" but also play Sham 69's "If the Kids are United" just before they come out.
Don't know what Shaw Lane Aquaforce's theme music is but I bet we know someone who does.....

Don't know what Shaw Lane Aquaforce's theme music is but I bet we know someone who does..... Considering they play on a bog of a pitch - and are bankrolled by a plumbing business - I hope it's something watery. |

People are stupid for getting excited about the FAT. It's for non-league clubs not the likes of the mighty TUFC. This is FCUM not MUFC - get a grip. We'd have been better off staying in the Football League. Why can't you fools see that? We'd have been better off having an FA Cup run than bothering with the FA Trophy. We could have won promotion if we hadn't wasted energy on a tinpot cup. Anyone who is thinking of going to Wembley is an idiot. It's a rip-of. The crowd will be embarrassing. Anyone cheering or smiling at Plainmoor should be shot for being a stupid Devonian. Have I missed any? |

I'm reliably informed that one of the £79 three-nights all-in tours left the North West with a full load. Six senior citizens who'd made an early booking; the remainder FC United supporters. The coach company has been good to its word about a free bar at the hotel and a "gala dinner" this evening.

Dozens more I suspect!  I don't go with this thing about the Trophy not being important. At the moment I really don't think we are good enough to get promotion in any case, so a run to the final of a cup competition would be welcome. As Rob pointed out somewhere (like me he flirts with all 3 sites) it would be the first time the club has ever won a National competition. Plymouth Dockyard Apprentices and Truro City both have .... time for us to do so. .... and for those of you who know how to look things up easily .... have Argyle or Exeter ever won a National competition? I know Argyle have won the League 1 and League 2 championships, but not sure if I would count that as the competition is the Football League, so the winners are the team top of the Championship. Exeter, can't remember them winning anything. Like ourselves, a few promotions interspersed with relegations. Would have liked to have been there this afternoon. An appealing game. However I have only just finished work so for me I have to make up my mind in the next couple of minutes whether it's going to be Italy v Ireland in the warm or Ivybridge Town v Bodmin Town in the freezing cold. Putting it like that has just about made up my mind! |
