Have to be pleased with today, solid throughout the side and two good goals. Was nervous entering the last 10 mins with just a one goal lead, given recent weeks but well done to all for seeing it through. Another tough game on Tuesday, I see Dover beat Gateshead away today and seem to be on one hell of a run at the moment. If we can get a result there then we really will be back in the mix.

A good win against a rather expensive bunch of players. So there you go, as the saying goes, money can't buy you success! A worrying thing about yesterdays game of course though was the crowd number. What ever happened to the 2500 hard core support of a few seasons ago? One would think that our supporters prefer the boring, send you to sleep 1:0 wins of the Ling era, rather than the expansive open football with the occasional win of the Hargreaves era. Football supporters eh! I know which one I would rather watch!

We are, however, non-league and hadn't won many games recently, with really patchy form, and with so many home games in such a short space of time, in the run up to Christmas, I don't suppose it is affordable. Also, rather than a couple of hundred away fans for many games in the league, the away end is generally very sparse in this division. I think if performances and results remain inconsistent and promotion appears to be out of reach, I think the drop in attendances will happen more dramatically in non-league football, than it would in the league. 1500 by spring, perhaps, if things aren't looking good.

Of course hector attendances will drop in our league.......and as for promotion .....we are definetly in the mix......granted we have been Iinconsistant....give me 1 0 Wins any day......I for one think the gaffer doing a good job.....when we went on that good fun earlier in season....he could do no wrong.....how fickle some fans are when things go wrong at times......easy answer get rid as they say on the other site......he is doing a great job so far....he knows what are capable of doing to teams....and we beat a good outfit yesterday....and a clean sheet....in my little humble opinion ....we will make playoffs as minimum.......long way to go yet.....coyy......si

Another very enjoyable game.
Some good stuff going forward AND some solid defending.
Every player played well.
Interesting use of MacDonald to help defend the lead. He seemed to have a free role just in front of the back four - but got across to help Ives out a few times when it looked like we would be overloaded down that flank.
Brilliant stuff from Briscoe for the second. Another goal for Bowman after he had missed three clear chances.

Mmmm I hope it doesn't get as bad as you say with gates of 1500! Otherwise, all the doom and gloom we get from Merse's site, where the posters there have a propensity to hate everything and everybody ( in particular anything to do with TUFC and the recently deceased) will mean we have about as much chance of surviving as a blond model sat on a toilet in South Africa with her heavily armed boyfriend stood outside the door on his springy metal legs having just downed half a bottle of Jack Daniels!!!

I'm not sure I've ever seen any posts on the Dead Club hating anything to do with the recently deceased, unless of course they happen to be serial killers and the like...in fact, most of the tributes are respectful and often done as a celebration of their life. Of course, it's a competition that appeals to those with a sense of humour on the darker side....although it's rather ironic that you choose to slag off others supposed bad taste, while making a rather crap joke about an innocent young woman that was recently murdered in cold blood.

So your comment about Joan Rivers (a woman who you've never met) being an American Jew and making a career out of being a C*NT is respectful is it?
Yes, the recent shooting of a young woman in South Africa was indeed cold blooded murder. I thought though, that in addition to describing how precarious are position could get, that it might appeal to supporters who...shall we say...had a sense of humour that leaned towards the darker side!

Ah yes, having had another look you are correct, it wasn't initially your post...just something you chose to highlight! As you say correctly though, best to leave it there.
