Really disappointed that Richards was played at centre half - massive weak link, Hutchings should be brought on pronto!
Bowman and Briscoe both missed good chances but really should be 3-1 down. However, goals in this game galore so who knows what the final score will be?

Defense absolutely appalling, a second goal now for Alfreton scored with all he time in the world in front of goal Pearce (just when you want him to have a good game ) out of position out wide and Courtney a poor excuse for a center back. Good goal from Briscoe but we look poor other than the threat from Toby Ajala who has been on his game. They also scored a legitimate goal from a corner that the ref somehow adjudged t Rice was fouled - he just didn;t get there and simply doesn't know how to! If they keep throwing high balls into our box they could have a hat full./ Telford all over again though with Bowman off not sure we can get back into it.
Not looking good we have to up our game and sort out the center of defense or the will win by a landslide.

Get Hutchings on and move Richards up the pitch where he belongs. Poor decision.

Well fellow gulls.....with playing Richards in centre of defence.......did he have any other options available to him.......looking back in hindsight this should of been sorted at half time by the gaffer........yes am pissed off like the rest of you......but got to say earlier bookings and sending offs earlier in season hasn't helped the cause.......don't get wrong am not using that as an excuse for tonight's performance in any way........we will bounce back from this am sure of that.....si

No one else to blame other than MacDonald for a stupid booking last week and other stupid bookings and Downes for his rash challenge. Feel sorry for Courtney who should never have been put in that position - a bad error of judgement though easy to say in hindsight. Greavsy obviously doesn't rate Hutchins.
All of their goals were from dreadful defending second half we looked threatening going forward without really cutting into them and our equaliser to make it 2-2 was even a little fortunate.
Wakefield was anonymous and Richards needs to be reinstalled into his natural position next game I just hope that this experience hasn't damaged his confidence. Couldnt beleive how fragile we looked at the back - eight goals against v the two bottom sides that caouldnt buy a goal or a point before hand .
Something wrong somewhere is it management naivety?

Blame this defeat well and truly on McDinalds shoulders and the person who picked Richards for his slot tonight. Alfretonn hadn't scored a goal for 400 feckin minutes going into this game. Hope those folk who thought Hawkey was crap are choking on those words. 4 goals scored against us by the bottom and second from bottom clubs. |

Telford all over again, a horror show at the back. I'm a big fan of CH but that was a big error of judgement installing Richards at the back. If this doesn't drum into the squad that they MUST cut out the silly yellows and rash red cards, well nothing will.
Hawley scoring against us, well was always going to happen wasn't it??!

MacDonald's not the only centre-back who's suspended, you know. So don't just blame him...
This is entirely on Hargreaves, though. We don't know how well Hutchings would've played but at least there would have been no obvious complaints had he had a tough time
As for Hawley, what can I say? The guy's a terrific footballer who was used terribly by us and the abuse he received here was awful. Contrary to popular belief, he always tried hard but couldn't do much in the role he was given because he wasn't suited to it. Today he showed what he could do if used correctly. He could bang 20-odd goals this season. And we paid him to leave! Honestly, I'm pleased for him

He scored nearly as many goals against us today as he did for us in a year, and certainly more effort did he apply than his entire time for Torquay. Typical journeyman. He performs when he can be arsed. |
