Did I hear on the radio that they're travelling to Dartford tomorrow? If that's the case, good luck with the traffic guys!!!! Exactly. A crazy decision. The area is congested at the best of times and this is a Bank Holiday weekend. If there was any truth in the promotion budget nonsense we were fed that budget would include a cheap and cheerful guest house for an overnight stop and time for a leg stretch and some light training the following morning. As it is we will step off the coach and just about straight on to the pitch, giving Dartford an excellent opportunity to be a couple of goals up whilst the minds of our players are still on the coach. A long way to go on and off the pitch before we will ever be promotion contenders in a highly competitive league! I agree - an utterly bizarre decision. It is almost a 5hr trip without the complication of the M25, Bank Holiday traffic etc thrown in. And this is such a winnable game as well and it could well be that something like this costs them.

I am going tomorrow, first away game in well over a year and was looking forward to it but hearing a couple of days ago that the board have not sanctioned an overnight trip for this is unbelievable. The M25 is extremely busy every Saturday but throw in a bank holiday and its madness! Certainly a chance of getting there late....how unprofessional can you get?
Well maybe we wait and see over the coming months and see what these clowns in charge come up with. Feel sorry for management and players they are judged on performances and results and our board treat them like this.
Will definitely take a draw with this happening.

Yes, remember getting stuck on M25 when going to Dagenham game for our first away league match in August and that wasn't a bank holiday. Pretty hellish, maybe time for a bit of Chris Rea?
As for the match, assume Josh is cover only? I see he is mooted as an attacking midfielder, not ideal to complement Young unless of course a three man midfield is to be used with a lone striker up front?

madness for the team to travel on the day of the match, but it aint me that picks the hotel bill up,but still think its not overly professional.

It is quite hard to see it as anything other than an essential cost given our primary product. Very sorry to read of this. Didn't we have a sponsor that specifically sponsored away travel costs for the team announced last season? I assume that was a one season only thing. I'd be more worried about how we perform against the Shots who have an extra day's breathing space on top having played tonight.

Good morning Stefano..............bit late on today.......lol........anyway mi ol mukeroo.......steady start to the season.....won't be long before we go on one of unbeaten runs....that's been a while to say the least........even with 10men in our last game I feel it was 2 points dropped there.....going for a comfortable win today by the boys.....and again on Monday.......got one of mi feelings that we are going straight back up to league 2......most of you will disagree with that.......not into that rebuilding malarkey.....sure we have the squad this season to bounce straight back up......anyway have a great day mate and fellow gulls........See you later lol.....oh no some of might say......ha ha ha......si

According to a post on BTPIR a sponsored offered to cover the hotel costs for today's trip but the club wouldn't sanction it. How close to the truth that is, is anyone's guess but the fact they have travelled today is a worrying sign.
I can see a shock happening today, which would only then turn up the heat on the club, with a likely outcome being that people would blame travelling on the day as a reason why the team lost.
Dartford are 23/10 on Paddy Power compared to 11/10 for Torquay. I have already made my insurance bet.

We will probably never know Hector, but I doubt CH and the players would have traveled today by choice. I'm sure we are having to cut costs wherever we can and overnight stays may well now be the exception rather than the norm. Famous last words, but I don't think we will lose today, perhaps a draw. Obviously bowman will be a big miss and will be interesting to see how we adapt to his absence...maybe play Chappell or yeoman up front along with Duane who looked a real handful last week...

Well, at least we didn't lose! Of concern, that according to BBC website, Duane went off due to injury. Hope its not too serious otherwise we are left with benyon and yeoman for Monday. Surely a newly removed from transfer list chappell has to be worth a place in the squad??
