Should not really post an opinion and probably not ethical. Sorry to see predicament for the gulls but thank you for the support and comments regarding Goodwin. Best of luck for remainder of season.

Talk about miss quoting! I never anywhere said that just 1 board member gave a shite, budleigh is right! 2 of them have only ever known tufc and their father's history and contribution to our club is priceless! There is one person that calls the shots and he's got it wrong for too long! The are a handful that do care but some that need to go! That's my opinion!
I don't think I miss quoted you aus. Your quote was "It's not Theas fault it's penny pinchers around her"...so similar to what I said, though admittedly, you didn't use the word shite!

I can't be doing with Board bashing at this time. I'd have stuck with Ling, others would've stuck with Knill. So be it. Each time the Board made their decisions, they had to fork out a fair bit of cash. And I can't blame them for replacing a grandstand that was condemned or trying to get us decent training facilities either. The person quite a few like to single out for criticism on the Board is Bill Phillips, I believe. Some of them have claimed he has put nothing in. Jon has discredited that with a previous screenshot of accounting information as I recall. I know nothing about the man. But his role in our current League position is probably as minimal as my own in the grand scheme of things.
Looking to matters on the pitch and continuing to put faith in Mansell is just one example of other factors determining our league position this season. Where do finger pointing exercises in the direction of the Board sit with that? They backed their Manager and signings were made at the beginning of this season. Pearce aside, and Harding injury permitting, things haven't worked out.
I have read on many occasions that Knill had his budget rug pulled, but never anything official. Well, he certainly managed a fair few signings if that did happen. And as the only named person he had to miss out on was Shaun Cooper, do we really think that would have been the missing piece in the jigsaw of a play off campaign? I doubt it. Though it might have stopped some of the left back targetting that happens every time Nicholson is picked, I suppose. Maybe a few points saved, but not a massive game changer.
Anyway, I think I'll bring an abrupt end to this post as I'll only start banging on along the lines of 'we should never have got rid of Ling' if I do.

I would say that was a little demeaning to those on the board who actually do care about the club, and probably more than you or I ever will...
Maybe I should have started my sentence with "It feels like!"

Personally, I think the biggest mistake we made was when we spent what money we had on a new stand and new training facilities at the same time. Blimey, the Hindsight Squad are in full effect this morning!
Nothing to do with hindsight...that's what I thought at the time!

We had NO OPTION but to replace the stand. It did not meet the requirements for changing room size etc. We had a period of grace after promotion from the BSP but that was running out. The training pitch may be a different kettle of fish in many eyes but our hands were tied on the stand (of course, we could have just left it to rot and had a 3 sided ground but im not sure that was really viable). Yes, I remember we had no option on the stand. We had a grant from the FL (or whoever) and if it expired we wouldn't get the chance again, so as you say, it had to be done. It's with the training ground at the same time that's my concern.

I'm guessing you're a relative of Shamir. A very good footballer and a nice guy it seems. He will certainly have no problem in making a career in league football. Don't worry about our predicament, we've been in more relegation battles than you can shake a stick at!

goodwin has done well for us,as infact all the loanees have, its the permanent players who have let us down so badly.Expecting rookie youngsters to come in and save our league status is lunacy and shows the direction this club is going and it isnt upwards

After yesterday I would be surprised if we win another game the confidence is totally shot through and we only have a group of strangers to select from. Admire your upbeat optimism though.

I'm a big fan of Shamire he works hard and was one of the few players who I felt really wanted it yesterday, he kept going even when things didn't come off.. I hope this downbeat experience doesn't put him off or affect his game in any way.

Can understand what everyone went through yesterday....and you all rightly pissed off.....all am saying still long way to go yet Pete......and am a great believer in never giving up......ok granted it's not all roses at our little club especially after yesterday dire performance......but nothing will change my opinion whatever the situation until it's mathematically impossible..... But with 15 games left we have every chance in staying up......si

All correct direction was lost when Colin Lee left and that's when it all started to unravel. Can we knock this little myth on the head. The last two years of Colin Lee's "stewardship" saw the club leak £1.4m in losses. The fact that the club did not continue to spend money like Lee did after he left was that he had spent all the money available and a fair bit on top. On the football front, the last year of Lee's involvement was a tense one. We flirted with relegation. From what I heard, Lee's involvement was not at all helpful to Buckle. When we needed a striker, Lee allegedly spunked all our cash on a past-his-sell-by left back. Our finest two seasons under the consortium came in the two seasons after Lee's removal. We narrowly missed out on promotion to League 1 in both seasons - and we balanced the books. The tactic was to give the manager a competitive budget and let him get on with it. Both Buckle and Ling managed the resources available to them extremely well. It's a great way of doing business when it works. When it doesn't, people will claim there is a better way. I'm not sure anyone has actually explained to me what it is.
