Merse
Indeed there is a difference Merse. However SG does also state later on in that same .net thread
which if true surely does qualify as a 'ban' from attending the match.

I'm saddened and disappointed, but not surprised with events taking place on.net. This is a dispute over payment between two men and .net are in real danger of really causing harm to our club.
The matter was kept of this forum by those in the know, because it was felt the good of the club should be put first and the knowledge that this could well ruin the season for us.
This forum feels it should not take sides over this, as stated there is always two sides of any story , the board knows where it is standing and as a supporter of TUFC all I care about is our club and how we go forward.

Have to say I agree with your stance 100% Dave.
I am disappointed that such a bombshell has been made public. It really should have been left for them to sort out between themselves, rather than fans forcing the issue.
If it started to affect the team then fair enough, but up to this point it hasn't.
I guess we'll now find out if the team will be affected by this worrying undercurrent being in the public domain. Fingers crossed it doesn't.
Got to go and get ready for this arvo now. I'll do a review of the 'Number 10's' carvery later on for you if you want Dave. ;D

Last post on this subject - in reply to Merse:
For your satisfaction Merse, i'll for once make a response to your ludicrous post.
I am far from embittered but that word describes you to a T. You repeatedly emphasise the word OUR when you say our club, yes it is ours, as such I have a right to comment on what concerns me about OUR club, you seem to think that right only applies to you.
I've known what's been going on at OUR club for months also, perhaps you don't like the fact that I do know what you know about events at OUR club and a lot more besides.
The thread has a ? after the title. Did you fail to understand what that means? You can hold your grudge against me until the day you die, it bothers me not, you will lose a lot more sleep over what I do than I ever will over you. You'll always stretch that extra yard to bend the truth to fit your own agenda, i'm happy to merely pass on information I have, once i've verified it's authenticity.
Perhaps you'd care to enlighten me on how you can assess the amount of time I spend on any website, let alone an Exeter City one, that does still make me chuckle, do you really care that much that you would try to insinuate i'm a closet Greek?
Another correction, I wasn't at any time told anything by Colin Lee. I had a very cordial conversation with him, so please don't fabricate your already flawed statement.
The difference between you and I is that I am able to forget any hosility and stand up for what I believe to be right. Disagree with me all you like, but please at least have the courtesy not to question my honesty or integrity. I've stood my ground in conversations with Sean, if he can respect that why can't you? Is it because deep down you resent me that much? It just so happens that in this particular instance I feel he has been treated very poorly, why would I keep quiet about that?
In short Merse, I have no hidden agendas, no need to seek publicity as you laughably seek to point out, i've actually had pm's from fans thanking me for speaking out. That's all the justification I need thankyou very much. I said what I said knowing full well that I would be shot at, but i'm big enough to take that on the chin. You continue with your personal attacks on me all you like, it says more about you than it ever will about me. I moved on, left you well behind, being the bigger man. I won't bother responding to you in the future Merse, it's time one of us drew a line under this long and sorry saga.

Scott, I think this should be the last posting you make on behalf of SG on this forum. If SG wants to have a debate with Merse then they should lift his lifetime ban on dotnet & have it via that platform & not this one.

Dave R,
Can I use this thread to thank you for setting up this forum.
I have never been one for forums, time restraints and a low boredom threshold span means that I could never be asked to read through pages & pages of waffle and conjecture.
I did start to read the BBC 606 non league forum, however that became tedious as people were just using it as a tool to deride other teams supporters, just why some Exeter supporters would take the time to bother to read and make snide remarks on Torquay threads is beyond me. Then last season you had Stevenage fans believing they had a divine right to promotion, this season Mansfield started along the same lines, although for some reason they have gone quiet now.
I cant remember why i joined this forum, but I am glad that i did. I like the quality of the posts, most make for an enjoyable read. I go for Quality over quantity any day. I also enjoy the banter that i have seen so far, yes people are opinionated, some more so than others, but better to express an opinion and let others disagree than to not express an opinion at all.
I also like the fact that it is self governed and this seems to have worked, yes there has been the odd comment that could be seen to or felt by the receiver to have been a bit personal, but that has been very isolated. With the exception of one post, that I actually did see and fully agree that it had to be removed, nothing or no-one appears to have been banned, yellow carded, warned or whatever other terms are used to stop people expressing their opinions.
Actually i had better get onto the point i originally came on here to write about.
Following on from the story about 'The Statement' and the comments made, i felt that as i hadn't seen it i would need to see what all the fuss was about. I also, already knew the story about why the sponsor had pulled out so i wanted to know if anything more had happened. As no-one had copied the statement over or put up a link i had to go find it. I wasn't sure what i was expecting but was quite shocked surprised to see what i found. I have to say that i only read this thread and no others, so i might not have got a true representation of the forum as a whole and i am SURE someone will tell me whether i am right or wrong.
The thing that surprised me is how rude the staff are on there.
"are you really that silly" followed by "so you are that silly then". Then another manager (i now know why the term 'kid' was banded around before (lol)**) "has the penny dropped yet". Then later, rather inexplicably, someone made a point that one of the 'managers' didn't like (mainly because it disagreed with his own view), so the others ganged up on him. hardly a practice for allowing free speech.
I haven't commented before on any of the issues about colours etc, because i hadn't been on there to have a look, but now that i have i would say this; Dave, don't worry about them copying the colors. Whilst i realise that for you its a personal thing, however if i was you I'd take it as just about the biggest compliment going.
It is blatantly obvious that the two forums can live side by side. They are as different as chalk and cheese and no matter what either of the sites looks like it (please don't change these colours Dave, most of us take a while to be accustomed to things, change isn't good, besides don't allow yourself to be dragged into thinking that you should)
I know you have put a MASSIVE amount of time and effort into making this forum successful, but it isn't just the forum manager that makes a forum as good as this, its also those that contribute and for that reason this site tops all others and whilst a massive thanks must go to Dave, it is the members on here who make it what it is, a very enjoyable and informing forum. (i could add educational to that as well now)
Thats me finished on my soap box, boy its easy to get carried away when you start isn't it???
Onto todays game. Heart says 2-0, head says 0-0 (head gets the bookies money at 5/1).
Also whilst i am ranting, if you think that the oxford situation wont happen again today, you had better pray that Cambridge don't bring the same morons who they brought last year, who IMO were the most yobish, poorly behaved fans I have seen at Plainmoor in many a year. I haven't seen so much aggression in people eyes EVER.
** Sorry couldn't resist the text speak, it seemed appropriate to use it then and in that context.

It all sounds a bit bitchy to me. I would like to think that the builders haven`t met the requirements of their contract or work not up to a certain level therefore payment in full is withheld, if that is the case fair enough, get back in and put it right then get paid. To with hold sponsor money because someone at the club isn`t satisfied with the sponsors work outside of the club is just childish. Grow up everyone, talk it through and sort it out. I feel employing someone like City Link to do work when they have a vested interest in the club could be thought of as foolish( with the benefit of hindsight of course) i never pretend to be perfect, in fact sometimes I should listen to my own advice!

Many thanks for your kind words tucf01, it was mainly because of how I knew many felt about the way they were treated, that I set this up in the first place.
The layout will stay the same, so don't worry, the forums are miles apart, no colour change would fool anyone into not seeing that.

Slightly confused now?? Are scottbrehaut & Southampton gull the same person?? No Southampton Gull and his sidekick get other people to post for them when they want to say something on this board. If they wants to say something then they should have the bottle to say it themselves....we dont ban people for voicing their opinion on here...we leave that to the dotnet managers. At last it seems like posters on dotnet are realising that the man is an arrogant fool. Sorry dave but the guy pisses me off with his arrogant attitude.

Are scottbrehaut & Southampton gull the same person?? No, Scott has allowed himself to be the second dummy down the line.................the ventriloquist is Sean, his dummy is Southampton Gull who's love of "banning people" require him to get his message over via Scott because he is the victim of the treatment he meted out to others on .net He reminds me of that stage act where despite being put in the trunk, his voice continues to spill out via the ventriloquist I've noted Dave's comment about .net allowing us "banned ones" back, but in all honesty in the unlilkely event of that offer I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire as they say. In a nutshell, if you want to read Merse come on this forum, if you want to read Southampton Gull ; you can also read this forum and wait for Scott to have his chain pulled!

Aussie, spot on, the very same thought crossed my mind. The rest of this is just pathetic really. Even the match day thread has this subject all over it. Sat in the middle of the Red sea wondering how todays game went and all I get is this drivel.
