I was a student in London at the time, so I had to do a different route to most Torquay supporters after the game, and I remember being chased by a group of Basingstoke fans after a match that had endured a rather testy atmosphere.
Their no.11 was Brian O'Donnell who played as a non-contract player a few years earlier under Bruce Rioch. Funny seeing the league table with Redbridge Forest one place above the team they would later merge with, Dagenham.
