Sorry for the delay in replying rjdgull.
I guess because, though my Mother started taking me in 1981ish, perhaps earlier. The first time I REQUESTED i wanted to go was 1984/85 so thats where I am starting from....

84/5 pre season aways 25/7 Kingsteignton no prog 28/7 STC no prog 30/7 Moorland Select X1 at Ashburton 4 page prog 1/8 Stoke Gabriel (ground opening) prog 2/8 Teignmouth no prog 4/8 Dorchester s/s prog 7/8 Gloucester prog 11/8 Andover prog 14/8 Crystal Palace home s/s prog 18/8 Bristol City home s/s.prog. Mid season March 25th 85 HMS Torquay home no prog 14 0 ! also April 23rd 85 Brixham Rovers (fund raiser) at Wall Park prog also 14 0 ! Mr Webb certainly new how to put on a pre season and showcase his new recruits. Hope that helps and shall PM you the other bits and pieces asap. Great stuff, gullone. I have the Brixham game down as Brixham Trawler Fishermen's XI. A planned PSF at home to Plymouth Argyle on 21 August was called off. A private practice game against Kingsteignton (again!) was played instead. Just reading back on a few posts, I wonder IF the Plymouth game had a programmes made but of course not issued due to the postponement. Probably will never know but an interesting question. |

Additional: I know Jon's records are for first team friendlies but would be interested if there is any knowledge of any Reserve or Youth games that may have programmes? Though this info isnt essential for my collection.
Equally so I know gullone thinks there were no postponements that season so will add that to the generic postponed thread soon. Though if anyone has any other info, greatfully recieved.

Taken from a HE cutting, United are playing Brixham Rovers a team based on the Brixham and Torbay Fish Co-operative Wall Park 6 30pm. A crowd of more than 400 attended the game and the money raised will go to the installation of two seats on the Brixham fish key in memory of Mark Tyler and Mark Lane the young fishermen who were lost at sea recently. I think this may have been my first ever trip into Brixham and found it bloody hard to locate Wall Park. Its a rare occasion when we send a team into Brixham so im glad i did this one. I remember John Sims getting a run out and i kid you not a 30 yard screamer into the top corner from Micky Perry. Entertaining stuff on a spring evening refereed by Mr Alan merse And a nice little 4 page homespun admmision programme that is now as rare as rocking horse .... Have you ever been back??
