What a marvellous programme. It's a strange reminder of how many people would have struggled to have access to a typewriter at short notice. Yes, honestly. There were word processors (remember them?) by then but probably not very many.
S.Booth in that Brixham team. I've a sneaky feeling he may be related to Mike Booth, one of the best local players in recent years, who is now assistant manager of Buckland Athletic after decent stints at Tiverton and Taunton.

A quick check online indicates that Twilit Waters sank with the loss of nine lives.
Weren't Paignton Corinthians a major force in those days? I'm sure we've discussed them before.
Cothliff at centre-half for Corinthians. Harold, presumably who'd played for Torquay United immediately before and immediately after the war. A Liverpudlian who claimed Prescot Cables, Manchester City and Nottingham Forest amongst his former clubs.
Ah, the bugle band. Shutting my eyes I can hear them now.

An earlier visit to Brixham with the same sad theme im afraid ... Thanks again gullone - great stuff. As you say, another reminder of the dangers faced by Brixham's fishermen and the readiness of the footballing community to rally in support of bereaved families. Here's yet another example from 1935. As in 1951, Brixham RFC allowed Astley Park to be used for soccer: WMN 26/4/35 WMN 29/4/35
