This thread is what it says on the tin, a thread to give your best wishes to the team and Bucks as they go for a club record on Tuesday night in the game against Lewes.
A remarkable turn around after losing four game out five played at the very start of the season. So good luck from me and I will be there in the hope I see history in the making and also hope we can keep the run going for many more games to come.

A remarkable turn around after losing four game out five played at the very start of the season. So good luck from me and I will be there in the hope I see history in the making and also hope we can keep the run going for many more games to come. I'll add my name to that...........not sure if this is the right place, but with a note of caution. The unbeaten run has been extraordinary not only for its length, but also for the quality of the teams that have been brushed aside - the three wins at Cambridge, Rushden and York are pretty special in my opinion. The next two opponents in Lewes and Woking present the squad with a fantastic opportunity to put a bit of daylight between us and a very tight pack of teams just outside the Play Offs. We will hit a dodgy patch at some stage again this season and the bigger the cushion we can get the better. That is far more important than some record (imo) However, any TUFC fans will know that just when things appear rosy at Plainmoor, football has a nasty habit of kicking us in the nuts - more often than not we tend to slip on these banana skins - think back to Cyril's team in 87 / 88. We had just beaten Spurs in the Cup and won at Bolton and Wolves in the league. Then we go and slip up at home to Warnock's Scarborough. Even under Leroy in our promotion season we nearly blew our chance when after a fantastic run in we drew with Kiddie in our last home game. Well done and good luck fellas............but the job is only a third done.

Its currently at 14 in all competitions, Brett. We're on 14 at the moment, so tomorrow night can break it. I didn't realise but if we win tomorrow night, we will be equalling another club record; for the number of consecutive games unbeaten! If we win, it will equal the 8 that was put together in the 90's. So, if we win the next two, Bucks and the players will have broken two records in two games!

Not forgetting the post by "Super stato Jonno" whereby the longest unbeaten run solely in the league is 15 games. No need to take our foot off the accelerator yet. Would have to avoid defeat against Lewes, Woking, Cambridge and Eastbourne to equal that one and then at home against Histon on 20th December to set a new record ( early Christmas present anyone )

Blimey you lot, maybe I am a bit of a pessamist but please please please none of this talk about beating the record. Like Enzo says these things can bite you on the arse if you are not careful.
Lewes will be up for it and we have to see this game as any normal game against any other strong opposition. If the fans turn up expecting an easy ride they may not get it.
Please Tufc make me eat my words and swallow my caution. Come on you yellows!

Jamie, think positive thoughts and positive things will happen mate, nothing is every easy or guaranteed, but go with the winning attitude and one should not fail.

I couldn't give a stuff about the record to be brutally honest! All I remember from that 1998 season when we won 8 in a row is that we didn't go up! (Dreadfully disappointing performance at Wembley after we had annihilated Scarborough in the semis!) All that matters this season is promotion, any records set along the way are incidental!

Well Jerry would not not be great, to look back on this season, celebrating promotion and the fact club records were also broken, why settle for just one thing when we could have so much more to celebrate.

Like I say Dave, promotion is all I care about. If we fail to go up this season will anyone really look back and say "wow wasn't it great that we beat the record of consecutive wins?". all people will remember the season for is the final outcome.
It matters not a jot if we win 15 matches on the spin if we fail in our ultimate goal!

Jerry I can't disagree with anything you say, the one point I will make is this. We have so much doom and gloom around the world at this time, if we break the record tomorrow, what a great up lifting feeling that will be for so many.
No, it won't mean much at the end our last game, if we have failed to go up, but lets live each day as it comes and get the most from the very best ones.

I will add one further point, at this moment in time, we have a team, that is working hard in training and giving everything out on the pitch. They go into every game with the will to win and I would ask no more of them.
Our team and our fans want what other teams want as well and as long as the team continue to give the same effort, but failed in the end through on real fault of their own, then I will be happy still.
If we threw promotion away, due to poor team selection, substitutions etc, well then that would be a different matter, but we have no right to expect to go back up, but the players and Bucks are doing their best to try too.

Well done to the team and Bucks for getting the record tonight, lets hope we can keep this run going even longer. While it seems it has been achieved under difficult circumstances, I for one thank everyone at the club, for the hard work they have done, in getting our season back on track.
