Once again, Roxy Music with A Song for Europe, with Bryan Ferry, Andy Mackay (the best saxaphone player of all time), and the Great Paul Thompson on drums. What could possibly be better than that to end a boring tuesday evening ? Try it for yourselves sometimes.

.........two different live versions of "The Dirty Glass" by the mighty Dropkick Murphys - the girl singer in the first one is Liza Graves who imho can actually really sing very well - the second one is Stephanie Dougherty who certainly gives it the full treatment - Mise Éire........

No music since Christmas Day ? I reckon Chelston re-crossed the Severn Bridge with a stack of Treorchy Male Voice Choir albums, and is enjoying them all so much he can't decide which one to recommend to us. I've also listened to a fair bit of music over recent weeks, having been sent back on a nostalgic trip to the 1980's, thanks (sincerely) to the TUST militants. I'm sure that my good friend and fellow Smiths fan, Hector would concur that if you wanted some wonderfully inventive lyrics or an interesting interview to read, then Morrissey was your man. Although to acknowledge the true musical genius behind The Smiths you had to give more credit to Johnny Marr. But when your Smiths T shirt with the red gladioli had to go in the wash, any self respecting music fan would then reach for the one with The The's 'Soul Mining' Album Cover illustration printed on it. With The Smiths having split up, learning that Johnny Marr was to join The The seemed like a match made in heaven. I was living in Gloucestershire at the time, and a mate drove us over to Newport for the concert which included new band member, Johnny Marr. Rob's mention of G.I Joe, immediately had me recalling the lyrics of Sweet Bird of Truth, from the 1986 album 'Infected': 'Over the mountain tops we go, just like all the other GI Joes EE-AY-EE-AY----adios!'with, incidentally, CBS delaying the release of the single, as April 1986 coincided with the U.S bombing Libya. The earlier (1982) 'Soul Mining album remains my favourite, and if it hadn't been for Rob I wouldn't have been inspired to re-listen to tracks such as 'Uncertain Smile', well worth listening to right to the end, in order to enjoy Jools Holland's virtuoso performance on the piano.

...............specifically, the mighty Dr John Cooper Clarke with "Johnny Clarke Talkin Sweet", "Clint McCrocodile", "A Cheese Sandwich", "Health Fanatic" and "Chicken Town"............... These were one of my favourite bands from that era and i was definitely there that summer evening back in 1982 but i can not remember a thing about that particular gig for some reason. Did any other of you guys out there have the pleasure of seeing The Banshees and Mr Clarke that evening at the Town Hall ?

Goodness, Alpine. You must be much younger than I gave you credit for, with music taste such as yours. Although you liking The Smiths, somehow makes me think of this...

PETULA CLARK OSBORNE
'And you may find somebody kind to help and understand you Someone who is just like you and needs a gentle hand to Guide them along'
Lyrics that encapsulate the spirit of all pulling together at managerial level for the good of the club. Words of advice from the Owner to the Team Manager, along with the club's General Manager also working hand in hand as TUFC solidarity is the order of the day, and a young Manager gets guided to even greater success. With G.I's wise guidance at the helm it won't be long before all Gulls fans are joining Petula in singing: 'We can forget all our troubles, forget all our cares',
