Well this time last month, we must have all been dreading having to play Cambridge, Forrest Green and Wrexham away this month. Many I'm sure would have felt getting any points from those fixtures, may have been to much to expect.
So who would believe we go to Wrexham looking for our fifth win on the trot, not me for sure, so the turn around in our results has been amazing.When was the last time we won five on the trot? sure some one will be able to tell us, It must be some time ago.
Wrexham having lost their last home game, will truly be up for this game, will need to restore some pride and keep the home fans happy. Yet we must go there in a very confident mood, unlike them, so any early goal would be a very big plus for us.
Get that early goal and the Wrexham players heads will drop and sure their fans will start getting on the players backs. Its no different to what has gone on at Plainmoor, when we have lost games, then I'm sure our great traveling fans will be the ones making all the noise.
I believe we will win this game and round Of the best month for results, we have had in a very long time, all we need to do them Is keep It going and we would soon find we were on the top Of the table, how good would that feel, after our poor start, when some feared, we would be in a relegation scrape.
Go there boys with no fear and come home with all three points.

 Going to the Racecourse (not the real one) should hold no fears for our boys, after all they train all week at........................... The Racecourse!

Looks like Robertson is fit but Poke, Ellis, Todd and Carlisle are definate no-nos. Gut feeling is that Robertson will be on the bench as just back from injury. The front line is quite hard to call but suspect Sills will be back in a 4-5-1 / 4-4-1-1 formation. Thompson could be his partner but would be surprised if either Green or Benyon didn't have at least a significant run out! Would guess at the following line up  Bevan Mansell, Woods, Hodges, Nicholson Dsane, Wroe, Hargreaves, Carayol Thompson Sills Subs - Adams, Robertson, Green, Benyon, Stevens. |

rjdgull I think you have got It spot on, can't see a change In our play has it has worked and got the wins. I think It will only change If we were behind, but Is It not nice to be able this season, to have a plan B.

Would prefer to see Benyon in there instead of Thompson, but i think its more likely Bucks will stick to his 4-4-1-1 formation, and why not as it has been so successful. Benyon or Green can come on if we need to chase the game.
I'm just about to leave for the game, passport is packed and I'm in date for my jabs. Seriously though, i would settle for a clean sheet today. That guarantees a draw, anything else would be a bonus.

Leaving for the game? It Is in the UK tufc01, I get It you are going to pick up chipnicker1 and take her as you feel guilty that you did not for the Forrest Green game ;D ;D

The big question is Centre back. Robertson, Ellis and Todd are out so this leaves Woods and 3 other options. Hargreaves?- Unlikely as I think Bucks now understands his value in midfield and that he is an awkward centre back. Hodges? - This would leave space for Nicho to come in at left back, Hodges did'nt look the best at centre back the one time I saw him there but this would probably still be the logical choice. Or, of course, there is Brough? Buckle signed him to play there so if he does'nt play today I really cannot see him having much of a future at the club. I have been very dissapointed with him when he has played and he has looked unfit. However, this could be an opertunity for him to prove his worth. In an interview news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_conf/7626870.stm Bucle hinted at Brough slightly. After suggesting that he was an option, he talkes about Dsane doing well despite being listed for loan. Though he also hinted at Hodges. I think , thankfully, we can rule Hargreaves out of contention for that spot though, he looks sure to stay in midfield. My team- Bevan Mansell, Woods, Hodges, Nicho Dsane, Hargreaves, Wroe, Stevens Thompson Sills I would like to see Stevens and one other on the wings, I picked Dsane because I believe that Carayol is more of an impact player and will, therefore, do a better job coming of the bench. I think Bucks will stick with Dsane and Carayol though. Bench - Benyon, Green, Carayol, Adams, Brough (the only other 5 available) |

But he is still in my bad books for not picking me up for the FGR game, it was only an extra hour further on!!!! We are just about to leave and attempt the border crossing. I hope its as exciting the Forest Green appeared to be?? The stadium looks well good, so really looking forward to it. Come on You YELLOWS, YELLOWS, YELLOWS !!!!!!!! PS Benyon to start??? Chips. |

Be brave and go into the Turf Hotel which adjoins the new stand in Mold Road.............................a proper football pub - even if the doormen look a bit "Scousey/scarey" that's what makes it a safe house.................there's some wonderful old photos of the ground on the walls in there. There's also a "Supporters' Wall" at the back of the new stand where fans have paid to have a brick inscribed in their honour. Try and find the one that is from crowing Spurs fans thanking the club profusely for dumping the Gooners out of the cup in that "Mickey Thomas" year! The Turf used to have a few season tickets at it's disposal so that punters could sit on the flat roof garden and watch the action from a corner of the ground.......................the whole shebang was owned by Marston's Brewery, but now the size of the new stand renders that impossible. The old stands of the Mold Road side that lay derelict for so long sat at angle to the pitch as they were the last remaining vestiges of the old racecourse which stretched out behind the opposite (Yale) stand onto the land where the college and playing fields now are. At one time too, the cover of the Kop had a curving balcony of seats over the terrace below, utilised when the town's Odeon was demolished...................tight fisted lot the Welsh, never chuck anything away! ;D Two outstanding memories for me of the Cas Raes are of watching England get mullered there 4-1 by the Taffs and witnessing the appalling abuse that skipper Emlyn Hughes received from BOTH sets of fans for being captain of England with a Welsh name, and also of getting shat on the head by a seagull and being taken into the dressing room to wash my hair before a Torquay game. Just as I came out of the shower towelling my barnet, some of the Wrexham players arrived and wanted to know what the hell was going on! Many memories, I wish I was there now (but wearing a hat)!

I was sat right next to the "caretaker" and also Little's predecessor, Brian Carey at FGR on Tuesday night! At first I thought it was Alex McLeish!

Interesting team, another change in the formation. Hope Buckle isn't trying to be too clever. Would have preferred a tried and tested formula. Roll on Plan "C".
